What does the FDA have to do with Hemp Extract?
A recent conversation with someone learning about the benefits of CBD demonstrated that some people may be concerned about the statement on all our bottles: “FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA) DISCLOSURE: These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any disease. Always check with your physician before starting a new dietary supplement program.”
This person was extremely concerned that the FDA did not evaluate our products . I explained that the FDA doesn’t evaluate vitamins, like vitamin C, D, and E, as well as pro-biotics and pre-biotics, and other supplements, which many of us take regularly as part of our own personal health regimens. Since our Hemp Extract with CBD products are considered “dietary supplements”, like vitamins, and not “drugs”, it is not within the FDA’s scope to evaluate dietary supplements.
This person was surprised to hear that his dietary supplements, which he had been taking for years, with great success, were labelled in the same way. He could not wait to go home and check. Needless to say, he called me the next day to let me know his vitamins had the same disclosure as our hemp extract products, and he was no longer concerned that the FDA does not do these types of evaluations . In fact, he was eager to try our hemp extract products with CBD, and encouraged me to write this post as he was certain people were under the same mis-conception as he was.
